In this tutorial, I'm tackling a different way to create a Gas Giant. Instead of creating a texture map and applying it to sphere, I'm going to use Cinema4D Lite to create a visible light that looks almost solid.
I will be using Video Copilot's free Orb plugin as well to create the edge atmosphere and the planet's shadow.
